Before formatting here is a list of things to do before formatting is to commence.
1. Backup Files for SabnzbD+
The location of the files for each operating system can be found below:
Windows XP/2003 c:\documents and settings\user\local data\application data\sabnzbd
Windows Vista or 7 c:\Users\user\AppData\Local\sabnzbd
Unix $HOME/.sabnzbd
OSX /Users/user/Library/Application Support/SABnzbd
2. Backup Sickbeard Files
backup your config.ini , database & autoprocessTV.cfg from the installed directory. Usually it's located under sabnzbd++
3. Backup Databases
Although it hasn't been an issue in the past because the db files seem to survive a format. Visit http://isilver18.homeserver.com/pma or http://192.168.100.112/pma to backup the database.
4. Backup all IIS Settings
Backup all website settings from IIS. This just makes it easier to restore IIS: Right click on website > Al Tasks > Save Configuration to a file
Things to do after format is complete
The very first thing we should always try and do is as many updates as possible even if it requires several reboots. Things must be up to date.
1. Create a new user called WHS Services
This will become the main login that everything should be installed as. It's also the one that has an auto-login created. Visit http://www.i-lan.ca/index.php/technology/whs/96-autologin-with-autolock-at-startup to set this profile as the main login when computer starts up.
1. Here is a list of applications to restore after format is complete:
- Filezilla
- Nero
- AVS Video Converter
- Google Chrome
- J. Rivers Media Center
- Newsbin
- Quickpar
- Winrar
- 7zip
- logmein
It's best to start with Google Chrome as it works far better then Internet Explorer 6.
Once installation is completed follow the steps in the document:
